Accounting Manager
We've got a fantastic opportunity for an experienced Accounting Manager to join an established international travel business and take the lead on its UK accounting and financial reporting.
If you've worked within a travel agency or Travel Management Company (TMC), understand the complexities of IATA BSP accounting and enjoy getting stuck into the detail, we'd love to hear from you.
This is a hands-on role with plenty of responsibility, working closely with colleagues in the UK and a wider US finance team.
And there's flexibility too! Our client is open to full-time or part-time working, with options including three or four days a week or shorter working days.
Based in London, with hybrid working and typically one office visit per week. There may be flexibility for fortnightly attendance.

The Opportunity
We're working with an established international travel business that's looking for an experienced Accounting Manager with a strong background in the travel industry to take ownership of its UK finance function.
This is a varied, hands-on role where you'll oversee everything from management accounts and financial reporting to IATA BSP reconciliations, statutory compliance and financial controls.
You'll work closely with the UK management team and colleagues in the US, making sure everything runs smoothly behind the scenes and that the business has accurate, reliable financial information to work with.
The important bit? You'll need to know the travel industry already. Our client is looking for someone who understands the financial complexities of working within a travel agency or Travel Management Company, particularly IATA BSP accounting, airline settlements and industry-specific reporting requirements.
You'll have the experience and confidence to manage the day-to-day accounting function, but you'll also be happy rolling up your sleeves and getting involved in the detail.
There's plenty of flexibility around working arrangements, too. Whether you're looking for a full-time position or something that fits around three or four days a week, our client is happy to have that conversation.
The role is London-based with hybrid working, and office attendance is generally expected once a week, although there may be flexibility for fortnightly visits.
What you’ll be doing
Managing the day-to-day UK accounting function and financial reporting.
Overseeing IATA BSP reconciliations, airline settlements and ticketing transactions.
Managing travel-related payments, refunds, commissions and customer receipts.
Preparing monthly management accounts, financial statements and balance sheet reconciliations.
Leading month-end, quarter-end and year-end reporting.
Supporting budgeting, forecasting, cash flow and financial analysis.
Coordinating audits, statutory accounts, VAT and tax reporting.
Maintaining financial controls and improving accounting processes.
Working closely with UK management and the US finance team.
What we’re looking for
Previous accounting experience within a travel agency or TMC.
Strong, hands-on knowledge of IATA BSP accounting and reconciliation.
ACA, ACCA, CIMA or equivalent professional qualification.
At least five years' relevant accounting experience, including management or supervisory responsibilities.
Good knowledge of UK accounting standards, VAT and statutory reporting.
Experience with management accounts, audits and balance sheet reconciliations.
Confidence working with multi-currency and intercompany accounts.
Strong Excel skills and experience using financial systems.
Great attention to detail, organisation and communication skills.
Bonus points if you've worked with NetSuite OneWorld, US GAAP or international financial reporting.
A role with room for flexibility
Big responsibility doesn't have to mean a rigid working week.
Our client understands that experienced people have lives outside work, which is why they're open to finding a working arrangement that suits the right person.
Whether you're looking for a traditional full-time role or something a little more flexible, there are options worth exploring.
Here's what makes this opportunity interesting:
Full-time or part-time hours considered.
Options for three or four full working days.
Shorter working days may also be possible.
Hybrid working with limited office attendance.
Potential flexibility around weekly or fortnightly office visits.
The opportunity to take ownership of the UK accounting function.
Close collaboration with an international finance team.
A varied role combining hands-on accounting with management responsibility.
If you've got the travel industry finance experience they're looking for, our client is keen to find a working arrangement that works for both sides.
If this sounds right up your street, we'd love to hear from you!
