In-House Travel Team Recruitment
Specialist Recruitment for In-House Travel Teams Across the UK & Europe
In-House Travel Recruitment
Building the Right In-House Travel Team
When your employees travel regularly for work, managing it effectively can become a job in itself.
That’s where a strong in-house travel team comes in.
From booking flights and accommodation to managing travel policies, budgets, suppliers and traveller needs, the right people can help keep business travel organised, efficient and running smoothly behind the scenes.
At Urbanberry Recruitment, we help businesses across the UK and Europe recruit experienced in-house travel professionals who understand both the practical side of corporate travel and the needs of the people travelling.
Whether you’re recruiting your first dedicated Travel Co-ordinator, replacing an experienced member of your team or building a larger internal travel function, we’ll get to know how your business works before we start looking for the right person.
Because an in-house travel role isn’t the same in every business – and the person you hire shouldn’t be either.

We Know How Business Travel Works
Your In-House Team & Your TMC
If you work in business travel, you’ll know there are a lot of moving parts – and your in-house travel team is often right in the middle of them.
They’re the link between your travellers, the wider business and your Travel Management Company (TMC), dealing with everything from everyday travel queries and travel policy to supplier relationships, reporting and the inevitable last-minute change of plan.
Which means finding the right person takes more than matching a few words on a CV.
We know how TMCs work. We understand what sits with an internal travel team, where the two overlap and the kind of experience that makes those relationships work well.
So when you tell us you need someone who can confidently manage your corporate travel and work closely with your TMC, we already know what you’re talking about.

In-House Travel Teams Recruitment FAQs
Hiring? Job hunting? Just trying to work out how in-house travel recruitment actually works? We’ve answered some of the questions we hear most often.
Looking for People?
For Employers
-
Put simply, it’s the person – or people – keeping business travel running smoothly from inside the company.
That might be one brilliant Travel Co-ordinator keeping everyone organised, or a larger in-house travel team managing bookings, traveller support, travel policy, suppliers and spend.
There’s no magic formula for what an internal travel team should look like. It depends entirely on your business, how much your people travel and what you actually need help with. Which is why we’ll always ask plenty of questions before we start looking for anyone!
-
Quite a few!
We recruit Travel Administrators, Travel Co-ordinators, In-House Travel Managers, Corporate Travel Support roles and Global Travel & Mobility positions, from individual hires through to larger teams.
And if you’ve invented a job title that nobody outside your company understands (we’ve all been there), that’s fine too. Tell us what you need this person to actually do and we’ll work from there.
-
Absolutely. And you don’t need to have it all figured out before you speak to us.
If you’re making your first in-house travel hire or building a whole internal travel function, we can help you work out who you need, what experience to look for and what’s realistic in the current candidate market.
Sometimes the person you think you need when we first speak isn’t quite the person you end up needing. That’s where knowing this industry properly really helps.
-
Yes – and this is an important one!
You absolutely do not need to be a travel company to have an in-house travel team. We’ve recruited travel professionals for businesses across media and entertainment, investment and finance, automotive, fashion and corporate and professional services.
If lots of people in your business are travelling and somebody needs to keep the whole thing under control, there’s a good chance an experienced in-house travel professional could make everyone's lives considerably easier.
-
Plot twist: you might need both.
Plenty of businesses have an in-house Travel Manager or travel team working alongside a Travel Management Company (TMC). They do different jobs, and when the relationship works well, they complement each other brilliantly.
We understand both sides of that relationship, so we can help you find someone who knows how to work effectively with your TMC rather than accidentally starting a turf war.
-
Because business travel is its own little world – and we’ve been in it for a very long time.
We understand the roles, the systems, the terminology and the difference between someone who looks right on paper and someone who could genuinely work well within your business.
So you won’t get a pile of vaguely relevant CVs and a “good luck!” from us. We’d rather send you fewer people who we genuinely think are worth meeting.
Looking for Your Next Move?
For Job Seekers
-
No two in-house travel jobs are exactly the same.
You could be organising travel for a small group of frequent travellers, managing complicated international itineraries or helping oversee travel policy, budgets and suppliers for a huge global business.
Some roles are wonderfully organised. Some involve a lot of “the flight's been cancelled and Dave needs to be in Frankfurt tomorrow morning”. If we’re representing the role, we’ll tell you what it’s actually like so you can decide whether it sounds like your kind of thing.
-
Probably more easily than you think.
If you've worked for a Travel Management Company (TMC), you’ve already got loads of experience that an in-house employer could value – booking systems, fares, traveller support, problem-solving and the ability to remain remarkably calm while somebody else's travel plans fall apart.
We can help you work out which bits of your experience matter most and position them properly when you're applying for in-house travel jobs.
-
Sometimes yes. Sometimes no. Helpful answer, we know.
Some in-house Travel Manager and Travel Co-ordinator jobs genuinely need somebody who already understands corporate travel. Others are much more open to transferable experience from airlines, leisure travel, events, operations, administration or customer service.
Our advice? Don’t reject yourself before the employer gets the chance to meet you. If you're wondering whether your experience could work, send us your CV and we'll give you an honest answer.
-
Being organised helps. Being very organised helps even more.
Employers hiring Travel Co-ordinators and Travel Managers are often looking for people who can juggle changing plans, deal confidently with travellers and suppliers, solve problems quickly and keep their head when everything changes at 4.55pm on a Friday.
Booking systems, fares, travel policy, budgets and TMC experience can all matter too – but so does the person behind the CV.
-
Yes. It’s rather our thing.
We recruit for in-house travel jobs across the UK and Europe, alongside roles within Travel Management Companies and travel technology businesses.
But we’re not going to try to convince you that every vacancy is your “dream job”. We’ll find out what you actually want next and talk to you about opportunities that make sense for you.
And if we don't have the right one today? That's okay too.
-
Absolutely – people do it all the time.
We see candidates move into in-house corporate travel roles from TMCs, airlines, leisure travel, group travel and other operational positions.
You might have more relevant experience than you realise. Sometimes it just takes somebody who knows the industry to look at what you've done and go, “Hang on – this could actually work.”
